I’m a whovian. I love sci-fi, David Tennant, and misadventures through the space-time continuum. And I am psyched to hear that the lovely Jodie Whittaker is the next Time Lord. Number thirteen, here we come!
For those who are unfamiliar with the plot of Doctor Who, EXTERMINATE!!!
I’m just kidding. I do highly recommend grabbing some popcorn and watching the best show in all of time and space. Basically, The Doctor, an alien from the planet Galifrey, travels around in a spaceship with a (usually) human companion and gets themselves in a lot of trouble. If The Doctor is mortally wounded, they just regenerate and turn into a brand new person…err, um Time Lord. So far, there have been twelve doctors. All white and all male. And now we have a brand new doctor, and, for the first time in history, she’s a girl!

Honestly, this step in the right direction has been a long time coming. Previous doctors have commented on being a woman for a period of time, but it’s never been on the show.
And it’s causing a bit of commotion.
One of the main complaints is that since, historically speaking, The Doctor has been male, the character was meant to be male. Well historically, only men were allowed to go to college, but I don’t believe that scholars were only meant to be male, soo…
Just straight up say you’re misogynistic, please. At least no one would have to waste time arguing with you.
As for myself, well, I’m anxiously awaiting the next season with popcorn and female empowerment. DOO-WEE-DOO or whatever.
What do you think? Are you excited for Thirteen? Do you watch Doctor Who? Comment and let me know.
